Non-Series Collages : Other Collages

My recent collages have evolved out of a fascination with “process” and “result”. After finishing a week long Collage workshop with Jonathon Talbot at Coos Art Museum, I learned and acquired a “process” of working with acrylics, polymer medium, release paper, gold leaf, and heat.
I discovered I could do the experimental and accidental with acrylics on the side - away from the surface of the final piece. This allowed me to select and place the accidental parts that best benefitted the design and “result.”

My “results” encourage an intensity of energy, movement, and action. To accomplish this through design, I require myself to work with conflict and active brush work.
In much of my work there is free-form vs. geometric shapes and lines; there is vertical vs. horizontal; diagonal vs. opposing diagonal; and, there is metal for visual activity when viewed at different angles.
