South Jetty County Park
by Pat on Jun.28, 2011, under 30 Artists 30 Parks
South Jetty County visitors area is an immediate spot to see the gorgeous and rocky Bandon Beach and the jetty extending out into the Pacific. I was in awe of the scenic coast and happy for such easy access to the coastal beach sands. After taking in all the western view, I decided to make an 180 degree turn. The eastern view was a wonderland of texture of worn rocks, longtime unused pilings, quiet inland waters leading to the western edge of Bandon, backed by evergreen covered rolling hills with a quiet blue sky, and finally topped by clouds and fog banks rumbling in from the Pacific Ocean.
It exemplifies the true nature of harshness that gives the area and its people a strong character. I understand more the title of “Bandon-by-the-Sea.”

by Pat on Jun.24, 2011, under 30 Artists 30 Parks
Coquille Point is located on a cliff overlook at the west end of 11th St. in Bandon. Gazing out over the vast Pacific is a staggering view of Bandon Beach with jutting rocks, Elephant Rock, and the fleeting motion of coastal birds and gulls. It is a perfect setting for inspiration!

Bastendorff is an awe inspiring Park! It overlooks the gorgeous and stunning Pacific Ocean and Southwestern Oregon’s rocky and sandy Coast. This view is from one of their campsites overlooking the public playground & picnicing areas and then, out over the cliff to the ocean below.

by Pat on Jun.22, 2011, under 30 Artists 30 Parks
Just joined an exciting local summer art participation project, “30 Parks by 30 Artists.” Thirty local artists visit thirty Coos County Parks at their leisure and create plein air art at each site. The project is funded by a grant from the Coos County Cultural Coalition and is spearheaded by Coquille artist, SL Donaldson whose blog and Facebook page keep running updates and photos.

by Pat on Jun.05, 2011, under Collages
My collages have arrived from the International Collage Exchange, New Zealand. Thanks go to Dale Copeland for all the time and effort put into this exciting program. Receiving new ideas from collage artists around the world is a true ‘elation’. These are the wonderful collages I found in my mailbox. Thanks, Dale!
Now, looking forward to the 14th International Collage Exchange in 2012.
