Taking a break from blog… Spring has arrived and much has to be done around the home and studio

“101 – N-S” Completed

The bottom third finally came together with “painterly” surface and graphics working together and supporting the upper portion’s organization. From left to right the deep blues of the Pacific move across and gradually change to more earthy colors of the land. Graphics (lettering/signs) and the reddish “Ocean Beaches” tie in with the rest of the upper composition.

Nearing the end of the 2nd “101″ acrylic painting. Did another time-lapse but this time at a different camera angle. I think it looks better with the over-the-shoulder and from-behind view. I will be doing the finishing touches on the painting without the time-lapse and will post a pic when finished.

Continued work on 101 painting filmed with GoPro3 White camera using its Time Lapse feature set at 30 second intervals. I notice the light quality reverting back to low quality like the first attempt. I think I know the reason (two lights showing overhead rather than one) – and will experiment with next step. The sound byte choices are very limited – so, I’ll need to experiment with sound creation. It’s all on-going

101 Painting – Step 2

Continuation of Acrylic painting, Hwy 101. In this step my goal is to get rid of the white canvas background and to start a build-up of color and texture. At the finish, there is still more to cover before defining areas and bringing in collage or other images.
